Ted Dallas was removed from his Vice-President post at the Chicago Teacher’s Union with a 31-5 vote from the union board members. The decision was made after three audits found that Dallas was fraudulently spending the union’s money.
Some of the things that Dallas,62, did using union funds were spending $6,200 in dinner and alcohol, and taking $17,725 for sick days.
Dallas, who maintains that he is innocent, has thirty days to appeal the board’s veredict on the financial improprieties and related misbehavior he is accused of.
After being accused, Dallas tried to revert attention from his wrongdoings by saying that the union president, Marilyn Stewart, was the corrupt individual in the union because she bought a satellite radio and took a vacation to Israel.
