Edward Vrdolyak, the former Chicago alderman, has pleaded guilty to mail and wire fraud charges.
Vrdolyak was charged of corruption with evidence from the same investigation that led to the conviction of Tony Rezko, fundraiser for the governor, Rod Blagojevich and Barack Obama.
Apparently Vrdolyak, also known as fast Eddie, arranged for the fraudulent sale of a $15 million property and he was to get $1.5 million from the buyers, which he would share with Stuart Levine, a lawyer who has also been charged of corruption.
Vrdolyak will be sentenced on January 9th, and could face up to five years in prison and a $250,000 fine.
Vrdolyak was best known for being the leader of the aldermen opposing Harold Washington.
